They’re back! Your favorite family from the late 80’s and early 90’s hit show, Full House –  the Tanners.

After running for 192 episodes in eight years, Full House went off the air in 1995. In an age of reality shows and spinoffs, where it seems nothing is original, the quirky Tanner family returns in a spinoff series titled, Fuller House.

The newly aired series consists of most all of the previous cast but has controversially lost the beloved Michelle Tanner played by both Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. The twins had both been offered a spot in the cast, but both chose not to come back.

“I talked to them, I understood why they didn’t want to come back,” said actor John Stamos, who plays Uncle Jesse. “They just have big lives. they haven’t acted in a while, but I love them dearly, and they’re always welcome on our show.”

The old series began up with Danny Tanner, a struggling widowed father, asking for help from his best friend and his brother in law. In Fuller House,  it is his eldest daughter, DJ Tanner, herself a struggling widowed mother, who seeks assistance from her best friend, Kimmy, and her middle sister, Stephanie.

The first season premiered February 26th on Netflix. With Stamos as the executive producer and actor on the show, the spin off is in good hands. In an interview with E News, Stamos said he has been trying to get Full House up and going again ever since the series was cancelled in the 90’s.

“It was cancelled a little prematurely,” said Stamos. “We were still going strong; we didn’t even know the show was going to be cancelled until a few weeks before, we didn’t even do a finale, and for years I’ve been trying to get this going, I’ve realized how important it is to people.”
