A lot has changed for Jeff Rogers as he moved up the coast from California to Seattle, but one thing that hasn’t changed is his passion for skateboarding.

Just two years ago Rogers was at a school, Aliso Miguel High School, with 4,000 kids. He remembers all of the different types of people and interests.

He said, “I am very laid back and so is California so I fitted in very well.”

Before living in California, Rogers and his family lived in Seattle. The venture down to California was a great experience, but they were ready to settle back in the PNW.

“I was sad to leave,” said Rogers,  “but in reality, Seattle is my home.”

The adjustment to BBHS was easy for him. He was instantly well-liked and respected by his peers.

“Coming back to Seattle and going to BBHS gave me the opportunity to meet some really cool people,” said Rogers.

It won’t take you long to realize that Rogers is a skateboarder. By his dress attire, speech, and personality, you can tell he is a skater. It is his favorite hobby and has been for a while.

“It lets me express myself,” said Rogers. “Nobody can tell me what to do.”

Skateboarding has not only let him express himself, but he has been able to meet some of his best friends through it. Everyone is at the skate park for the same reason, to have some fun and to do their thing.

“Nobody can tell me what to do out there. No one is coaching me and I can do it on my own time,” said Rogers.

Rogers has gone on many trips and adventures with his skateboard. He can explore the world while doing something he loves.

So as a California kid in a huge to school, to a Seattle kid in a small school, Rogers is still the same chill, easy-going, skater dude.

Jeff will be attending Gonzaga University in the Fall.
