Bishop Blanchet Girls Cross-Country Team Destined for Great Things!

Bishop Blanchet Girls Cross-Country places 2nd with 84 points in the varsity 2-mile run on Saturday September 10th! This year the girls have a new coach in Kristin Metcalf. This is a strong group of girls who are poised for success.

“We have strong leadership this year,” said Kristen Metcalf. “There are 20 seniors on the team who trained and worked really hard over the summer.”

Metcalf was optimistic when asked how the group of girls look this year. She was very positive about the senior leadership saying that the team has “endless possibilities.”

“We want to go to state,” said Junior Emma Flood. “That’s one of our top goals.”

Emma Flood is a Junior on the team who just finished with a personal record of 13:03.66 in the 2-mile run this past Saturday. She feels like this year could be the year the team goes to State. She wants to do her best to compete with the top girls each race. And she is!

“Everyone on the team is extremely positive and kind,” said Senior captain Emma Wells. “The team is just fun to be with.”

Emma Wells is a Senior captain on the team. She has really enjoyed the spirit of the team. She feels like the team has a great positive vibe which will help the team go to state!

The Blanchet Girls Cross-Country team next has a race on Friday, September 16 at 4:10pm at Lower Woodland. Come support the Braves!
