Solve Your Holiday Blues with These Tunes

With December 25th quickly approaching, it is becoming time for some of us to choose to switch up our regular music playlists for something a little more festive.

For some, the Christmas music-listening period starts as early as November 1st, and for others it is exclusive to Christmas day. Whatever be the case, if you celebrate Christmas, and you listen to music, there is a Christmas song for you. Here are just a few examples of Christmas tunes from different genres.

If you like country music, the options are endless when it comes to Christmas songs. After all, what is a country singer without at least one Christmas album?

Rascal Flatts have an excellent take on the classic, “I’ll be home for Christmas.” Other country music stars have whipped out whole albums dedicated to the holiday, such as Blake Shelton with his album “Cheers, It’s Christmas”.

For those who prefer a more modern, rap or R&B sound, there are a multitude of songs to play to during the holidays. Ariana Grande has written and covered many Christmas songs. Just last year, she released her EP “Christmas and Chill”, which includes a mix of classics and originals. This year, the ever prevalent Gucci Mane released “St. Brick Intro”, a rather festive, trap take on a Christmas tune. Finally, Kanye West’s “Christmas in Harlem” encaptures West’s own interesting experiences for the holiday.

Lastly, if you are the most inclined to tune in to more smooth, mellow, and classic Christmas vibes, never overlook Frank Sinatra, or his modern comparison, Michael Buble. While no one could beat the voice and talent of Sinatra, Buble’s take on Christmas music is definitely noteworthy.

With Christmas rapidly approaching, the frequency of Christmas themed songs being played increases as well. Hopefully, you will be able to find at least one Christmas song which you enjoy. If not, at least the season in which some people’s inner Grinch comes out to shine will soon be over.
