JV Boys Basketball Hopes to Get Back on Track

The Bishop Blanchet JV Boys Basketball Team started the season 5-1 but have played a few tough games in a row, dropping their record to 5-3 at almost mid season. Still, with an impressive record, they want to get back to their winning ways this week against Chief Sealth at home.

“We’ve just gotten unlucky,” said Sophomore Guard Jojo Wass. “We are a great team, but we have had a hard schedule the past few weeks, especially Rainier Beach. That’s a tough team, and those guys are really good.”

The team has performed really well this season. Their two losses in a row were expected, so it shouldn’t hurt the confidence of the players.

“We should get back on track in no time,” said Freshman Guard Jarek Woodward. “We have had a tough few games; but this is a resilient team and, if we just focus on what we have to do, we should be fine.”

After a five-game winning streak, the team has lost its last two games; however, it looks like they’re ready to get back to doing what they do: win.

“We are doing better than last year,” said Sophomore Forward Patrick James. “I think we are more confidant than the JV team was last year in the middle of the season. We are going to finish with a record to be proud of.”
