Alessia Cara, a new, up and coming artist known for her hit single “Here” is climbing the charts.Cara-1

The 18-year-old Canadian is taking the music world by storm. The songs from her EP “Four Pink Walls”, show a real insight into the teenage life.

The hit “Here” touches on a person who, stranded at a party, wanting to go home. This is a song most of us can relate to, because at times the party scene is not for everyone.

The lyrics state that it’s okay not to be into the social norm of partying. Cara’s words show that partying is not the only option, and that she’d rather be alone at home away from the strangers.

“I would rather be at home all by myself,” sings Cara, “not in this room with people who don’t even care about my well-being.”

This stands out because all she wanted to do was hangout with friends; instead, they ended up partying, while she sits in a corner alone.

As teenagers we just want to fit in, and to most people believe fitting in includes partying. Not everyone can just blend in with the stuff happening around them.

“Here” speaks for the young people who feel uncomfortable during per se a party, but do not speak up. Cara sings this catchy song to let teens know they’re not alone, and that it’s okay not to be into partying.

Cara has started to be new, funky voice in the music world. She puts a sparkle on her word to express emotions of many teens. This is only the beginning of a great up and coming artist.
