Brats in the quad? Yellow, red and black everywhere? A student dressed in Lederhosen? German week is upon us once again.

The week has been filled German-inspired dress up days and activities. Things kicked off with a “tiny clothes” dress up day on Monday. On tuesday the whole school was decked out in the colors of the German flag. Finally, on Wednesday students were encouraged to wear their favorite German soccer Jersey.

These dress up days were just the beginning of the German fun. During lunch on Tuesday students gathered in the Cafeteria to watch the cupcake eating contest. The following day, brats were served in the quad.

“The brats were a nice change from the usual Blanchet cafeteria food,” said senior Greta Geivett.

Morning reflections were lead by inspired AP German students all week.

“I loved John Broom’s reflection Monday morning,” said CJ Voelker, a senior and three year German student, “It was a great way to start the week.”

On Thursday, many students participated in small games at both lunches in celebration of Oktoberfest. Finally, on Friday, German club sought to thanks those who participated in the fun filled week with an X-Box Fifa tournament at both lunches.

Spanish week is October 9-13.
