Mid-Winter Break Helps Students Relax and Recharge

Mid-Winter Break is a time for the Bishop Blanchet community to unwind, relax and recharge, and push through those February blues.

Mid-Winter Break at Blanchet always takes place the weekend of Presidents’ Day, with the Friday before and Presidents’ day off.

Faculty, staff, and students at Bishop Blanchet all do a myriad of things over the short break; from having a “staycation”, to going on a college road trip, to volunteering in the community.

Junior Liam Tracey traveled down to California over the break to check out a few colleges.

“My Mid-Winter Break was fantastic,” said Tracey. “I had a great time in California and found out that college costs a lot of money!”

Freshman Hannah Berg stayed close to home and appreciated the days off to spend time with family and friends, and to just relax.

“My Mid-winter break was very fun and relaxing for me,” said Berg. “I was able to spend much needed quality time with my family and friends.”

Senior Lucy Yates cheered on the Blanchet Boys Swim Team throughout most of her break and loved every second of it.

“Over my Mid-Winter Break I went to boys’ state for swim,” said Yates. “I had a great time cheering on the boys to 6th in state and a great season as a manager.”

With Mid-Winter Break in the books, many students are now looking forward to the next round of time off which is the Faculty Retreat on March 15 to 16 and Spring Break March 30 to April 6.
