JV Boys Soccer Anticipates the New Season

As 2018 Spring sports begin, the new JV Boys soccer team anticipates an exciting season filled with a medley of friendship, competition and intensity.

After a year in between seasons, sophomore midfielder Liam Convery and junior defender Ethan Freiburger are ready to give their all and have a successful season. Aside from goal scoring, equally important is goal setting.

Convery anticipates a progressive and strong season with goals for himself and the team.

“I think some goals would be making sure the team stays positive throughout the season,” said Convery. “I hope to continue to get better and make sure others are as well.”

Every year ensues big changes, and now that Convery is a sophomore, there is a larger leadership role for him. Although he is not an upperclassmen, his positivity and determination ensures that he will contribute to the team effort.

According to Convery, heated and competitive games are a big asset to the fun of the high school soccer.

“I love soccer and enjoy playing at the high school level with my friends,” said Convery. “I like the competitiveness in high school soccer and look forward to playing intensive games against other schools.”

The season has just begun, however junior defender Ethan Freiburger claims that there is a strong chemistry and bond within the JV boys soccer team. With everyone’s individual talent and skills, and a strong coach, Freiburger believes they’ll be stronger than ever.

According to Freiburger, the team is fully prepared for their first match today against Lynnwood.

“I truly am feeling excited and ready to show the league what the boys are made of,” said Freiburger. “We will be taking care of business.”

With their positive attitude and determination, players Convery and Freiburger believe they can lead the team to victory.

The boys play Rainier Beach on March 19th at 4:30 at Rainier Beach.
