The Junior Varsity Volleyball team started the season off strong with two wins.

The Blanchet Braves walked off the court with their heads held high after their first win with a score of 2-o against Archbishop Murphy. The Braves kept the same level of intensity throughout the whole game. The players consistency was strong as they had strategic hits, blocks, and sets during both matches.

Two days later, Bishop Blanchet beat Shorewood 2-1 at Shorewood High School . These two wins not only hyped up Blanchet’s fans, but also resulted in the team gaining a sense of confidence on the court. There is no better way to start the season off!

Not only is the team succeeding on the court, but off the court as well. Despite being early in the season, the players have already built strong bonds with each other. Each player is becoming close and the team is coming together as a whole.

“So far our whole team has grown very close,” said sophomore outside hitter Olivia Dyckman. “ I’d say that is what I like most about playing volleyball at Blanchet. A very strong bond is created among everyone in the program.”

The strong bonds the team has created so far this season has resulted in trust between the players, increasing their ability to perform well together.

With two wins under their belt, Blanchet looks forward to competing tomorrow against Nathan Hale.
