It is finally the time of year for spring sports. Girls softball, boys baseball, track and field, boys soccer, girls and boys lacrosse, and tennis all take place during the springtime. It is the perfect weather to get out and enjoy the sun to cheer on your fellow Bears.

Girls softball player and captain Lauren Perryman has played Blanchet softball since her freshman year. “My favorite part about softball is getting to bond with girls I wouldn’t have otherwise”, said Perryman, “I have met a lot of girls in other grades and created friendships that are super special to me.” This year the 14 player team has a 7-0 record and have been undefeated since the beginning of the season.

Boys soccer has been kicking it all season with senior captains, Lucas Mcallister, JP Fairchild, and Zayad Hyder. The boys are undefeated with a 7-0 record as well. Sophomore Tyler Servers took the dub in their first game by scoring a goal and taking the first win of the season 1-0. “The community is the best part”, said McAllister, “there’s nothing like playing under the lights for our school and for my teammates.

Girls lacrosse is starting fresh with a new team. Seniors and captains Hailey Blair, Audrey Hamilton, and Olivia Sendleback strive to make the team the best they can be. The team doesn’t have a lot of experience and for some people it is their first or second year playing, but the girl’s are all learning together. Blanchet won against Kennedy Catholic last week, 20-7 and will keep improving throughout the season. “My favorite part about Blanchet lacrosse is being with the team”, said junior Gabby Jensen, “the bus rides are fun and I have been playing with Fia since the 2nd grade.”

Spring sports athletes are working hard and playing hard. Go out and cheer on your fellow Bears to show school spirit and true Blanchet pride.
