The Bishop Blanchet Braves football team has been hungry for the state title for 41 years.

With the win 73-29 against Juanita High School this past saturday at Memorial Stadium, they are able to continue their aspirations for the Washington football State title.

The Blanchet Braves scored a touchdown right out the gates by Senior, Oshea Trujillo.

“I couldn’t wait to play,” Said Trujillo. “I had so much energy. I want that title.”

The team overall led with a 20-7 score in the first half.

In the second quarter the team continued the energy by scoring another 20 points, but let it slip on defense, letting the Juanita Riders cut some slack ending the quarter with a score of 40-21.

The Braves did not stop. The team continued with two more rushing touchdowns in the third quarter and scoring 19 points in the fourth; finishing the game with the total score of 73-29.

“It was an exciting game to play in and it felt so good to win!” Said Junior, Will Merriman.

The Braves continue their journey to the title this Friday, November 27 at 7:30 at the Tacoma Dome.
