The Bishop Blanchet women’s basketball team continued their dominating start to the season beating Lakeside 70-43 on Wednesday, January 6, 2016.
Although the game started off close, the Braves were able to expand their lead quickly. Junior Jadyn Bush played an aggressive game finishing the night with 15 points. Senior Molly Dixon hit an impressive half court shot and had 8 points for the Braves.
Lakeside’s Kamijah King was the nights leading score adding 16 points to keep her team in the game. Kallin Spiller followed with 14 points as the lions held the Braves to only 10 points in the third quarter.
Senior Sam Robertson came out to cheer the Braves onto victory.
“The Braves definitely outplayed Lakeside,” said Robertson. “Everyone seemed to be working together and hitting their shots.”
Bush agreed, and felt as though the team atmosphere was positive and encouraging.
“Last night was a great team win against another competitive metro team,” said Bush. “Everyone who was on the court contributed.”
The Braves hope to continue their winning streak as they face Ingraham away at 6:30PM on Friday, January 8, 2015.
