Though Track and Field is mainly about individual events, the boys have come together as a team.

“As a team we are finding our stride,” says junior Zach Petrizzo, who got first place in the 1600 meter race and 1st with his 4×400 relay group. “As a team we competed tough at Eastside Catholic and are excited to attend the Pasco Invite this weekend!”

Other team members, like seniors Taylor Barnes and Peter Hogan, were victorious in their respective events.

Taylor Barnes won first Place in 100 meters, 200 meters, and in long jump.

Peters Hogan also snagged first place in the 800 meters race and the 4×400 relay with Petrizzo.

The Braves also dominated in other events like shot put, discus, high jump, pole vault and long jump.

“The season is going pretty well,” said freshman Jerrod Ranta. “The past meets, despite the varying weather, have been exciting and slightly apprehensive.”

The Braves work their way to Metros and are off to the Pasco Invitational this Saturday at Edgar Brown Stadium.

“I believe that we are on a path to achieve many more personal bests and accomplish team goals at Metros,” says Petrizzo. “It will take contributed hard work and a willingness to do more then the competition to get to the highest level possible.”
