Mr. Chris Connors, BBHS Math teacher, soccer coach, and 1991 graduate, has been diagnosed with cancer of the stomach.
The cancer, both inoperable and incurable, has already metastasized; doctors have found evidence that three lymph nodes have been malignantly affected by cancer and the fluid in his abdomen shows evidence that the cancer has spread beyond the tumor and the lymph nodes.
The Bishop Blanchet Community has begun to rally to his support. Ms. Molly McFarland has started a Go Fund Me site to defray the costs of the medical bills.  Its original goal was to raise $10,000. In the first 22 hours of activity, 50 donors had already raised $3,600.
Four days later total was eclipsed. 527 people had donated $51,900.  chris-(1)
Connors’ s wife, Ms. Kristin Kuzmanich – also a Blanchet teacher, stated in an email that his condition is “complicated by the fact the Chris’s kidneys are in renal failure and he has sizable blood clots in both of his legs.”
Kuzmanich says Connors is anxious to get home, but his ability to come home is dependent on his kidney function and the blood clots resolving themselves to some degree.
If his kidneys do not start to function normally, palliative chemo is not going to be an option.
Bishop Blanchet students and families are urged to keep the Connors family in their thoughts and prayers.
There is no word yet of school plans for a prayer service in support the family.
