Luke Bader Makes A Racquet

The BBHS JV tennis team may have had quite a few matches rained out this season, but one person on the team who always has a sunny disposition is Luke Bader.

This 2017 season is Bader’s third year on the team, as he has played from freshman year up until this season, his junior year.

“Each season has been different for me,” said Bader. “But I find that I enjoy being on the team more every year, especially since I keep on improving.”

Bader plays both doubles and singles on the team, but his favorite to play is doubles. Usually, he is partnered with junior Jack Heffernan.

“One of my favorite things about playing tennis for Blanchet is all of the different people I’ve met through the programs,” said Bader. “This year was a little different than the rest of the seasons I’ve played, since tryouts were more intense, and there are some different faces on the team this year. I was kind of nervous that I wouldn’t have my same friends on the team, but I’ve gotten to know a lot of cool people.”

One of the people he has grown close to on the team is sophomore Jack Robinson.

“Luke is always making me and the rest of the team laugh,” said Robinson. “This was my first year playing on the team, and he made me feel really welcome.”
For his senior year, Bader is looking forward to finishing up his BBHS tennis career strong next season.
