The men’s golf team had a string of victories, but unfortunately lost against Seattle Prep on September 27th. While the girls golf team is struggling due to the number of girls on the roster. Both the girl’s and men’s golf  look to finish out their season strong.

Bishop Blanchet men’s golf team had a string of victories in the past week, where they won three matches straight. The braves played Franklin on the 25th of September where they overcame and won that match. The girl’s golf team faces struggles due to their only being one person on that roster, senior captain Sienna Jared. When Jared plays other schools she has to compete against multiple scores combined, while she only has her scores count.

Senior Captain Jack Brush made some comments about the few games.

“The win over Franklin felt pretty good for sure” said senior captain Jack  Brush, “Solid win”

The golf team also won their previous matches against Chief Sealth on September 22nd and Garfield on the 20th. Much of the success has to do with their coach, Mr. Sean Gaskill.

“Mr Gaskill is a great coach” said Brush. “He makes us all better and makes the team really fun”.

With a mixture of fun and a sense of competitiveness, the golf team is on the rise. With the string of victories, the Braves were looking up. Their stellar play translated into wins, but unfortunately not against Seattle Prep.

“The Seattle Prep match was a tough one,” said Brush. “They’re pretty good, we’ll bounce back though”

On the other hand the girls golf team is struggling due to their small roster. Senior Captain Sienna Jared is the only female golfer on the team. This affects the score due to her being the only person to score points.

“I am the only girl,” said Jared. “It’s hard to win when all their scores add up and mine don’t”.

Sienna managed to win against Chief Sealth on September 22nd due to them having no girls on their roster. Despite the setbacks due to the limited roster, she stays enthusiastic and positive.

“I am still having fun regardless” said Jared.

The Bishop Blanchet Braves hope to bounce back with an upcoming match against Holy Names and O’dea on October 2nd. Jack Brush stated that he excited for the playoffs and that they would start in around a month.
