JV girls’ soccer played a season full of hard work, good attitude, and goals. Unfortunately, the season ended with the teammates in sad spirits because of their exciting success on and off the field.

They greatly improved throughout the season, especially in communication. Even though the team still struggled at times, they created a great bond which reflected in their strong efforts during games.

“I’m sad about the season ending because halfway through the season we really started to bond,” says Doriana Hasselbalch, “I think we had some good days and bad days, but we definitely got better towards the end of the season because we started playing together as a team and communicated more.”

In their final games, which were against challenging teams, Blanchet’s girls JV soccer team faced some skillful schools and overcame their difficulties in both games.

“When we played HNA, we had a rough game. It was pouring down rain and we were losing 3-0 in the first half,” says Hasselbalch, “but at halftime I gave everyone a good encouraging speech and we came back with two goals. That’s when I think we first really came together as a team and our confidence totally changed after that.”

The team faced challenges and improved immensely throughout the season, thanks to their hard work and coach Danny Dapper. The returning players of next year are very hopeful of what is to come.

Overall, the soccer team had a great season where they learned, conquered, and improved.
