The stimulating and exciting new British artist Dua Lipa lights up the charts with her new self-titled album that is sending shock waves through the music industry.

Every once in awhile a new artist comes along and shakes things up. This seems to be the case with 21 year old pop sensation Dua Lipa. Preceding her debut album drop, the young artist made a name for herself with three singles breaking the top 20 in her home-town of London: ‘Hotter than Hell’, ‘Be The One’, and ‘Scared to be Lonely’.

Her full length album is a non-stop pulsating thrill ride. It is the epitome of the modern pop sensation. With its fast, powerful beats and rhythmic, catchy melodies, the album “Dua Lipa” is undeniable fun, encouraging you to bob your head, jump up and down, and sing-a-long.

The album features a couple of big name stars collaborating with Lipa. Chris Martin, Coldplay’s main singer, comes in for ‘Homesick’ and the sensual R&B star Miguel is featured in ‘Lost In Your Light’. While both of these artist’s contributions are strong, Lipa holds her own as the star of her own songs.

Often times the reputation of the modern day pop star revolves around auto-tune, and less than adequate actual talent. Dua Lipa completely defies this stereotype. Ultimately her voice carries the album, serving as the foundation for all the toppings as opposed to being hidden by them.

Overall, the album is a confident masterpiece from a sprouting female superstar, mirroring the movement of female empowerment.
