The boy’s Swim and Dive Team competed against Garfield High School at Evans Pool on Friday, December 8th and came out with a win.

The performance as a team was solid, resulting in a 110-73 win. There was strong individual swims from Braves including junior Michael Lin who qualified for State in the 500 Freestyle with a time of 4:55.

“It was a pretty good day for the Braves,” said senior captain Paul Codd, “and it was crazy to watch Michael snatch a State time.”

The team has some major goals that they want to accomplish this season.

“We are hoping to place pretty high at State this year,” said Codd. “It is definitely going to be a challenge because there are some good teams this season including Bainbridge [High School] and Bellevue [High School].”

Last year at State, the team did extremely well placing sixth overall.

“We are hoping to place in the top five this year,” said Codd, “and if we keep up the hard work, it will be possible.”

This year, the team has two divers: sophomore Ben Ryan and freshman Evan Martin. The two underclassmen are helping the team earn extra points during meets.

The boys next meet is Friday, December 15th at Queen Anne Pool against Eastside Catholic.
