The JV team fought hard against Rainier Beach, but hope to get a winning streak to start off the year. The steady improvement makes this idea plausible.

The boys JV basketball team came off the winter break better than expected. They continued to play hard, regardless of the minor setback to the Rainier Beach Vikings loss on the first game of 2018. The final score being a 62-60 overtime loss.

The boys JV basketball team had their first game of the year against Rainier Beach. The game was a nail bitter, but unfortunately the braves fell short, but hope to bounce back.

“The team played extremely hard,” said Coach Joe Sauvage “ we are executing much better”.

The Vikings loss could only be interpreted as a hard fought game that showcased the team’s ability to play at a high level, despite the two point deficit they couldn’t overcome.

“I thought they played really good,” said spectator, Kristina Binder “ the game was closer than I would have liked though”

Sauvage looks to get a winning streak after the loss, and says that it is highly achievable with the guys he’s got on the court. The team doesn’t back down from anyone, and that’s what makes them special, their competitiveness.

Coming off the break, you might think the team had some rust they wanted to play off, but quite the opposite. They managed to reduce turnovers and play an overall s,other game.

“We are now executing much better than before,” said Sauvage “We are putting an emphasis on rebounding”.

The JV team beat chief stealth on January 5th of a score of 41-31. A solid win for the Braves. With this win Coach Sauvage and the team move to 6-3 and hope to put a string of wins together for the upcoming games against Ingraham and Nathan Hale.
