Varsity Boys Baseball Prepares For The Season Ahead

After a hard week of tryouts, the players were chosen, and the team was put together. This year is a bit different because a lot of the old players who are now seniors aren’t playing this year. It is a very fresh, and young team that has a lot of potential.

The captains this year include seniors Simon Serwold, Scott Yueng, and David Bremgartner. Having played most of their high school careers, they will serve as leaders and mentors for all of their team especially the underclassmen.

BBHS teacher Mike Finnegan is once again the head coach of the team and he is excited for the season ahead!

“I am most looking forward to getting to know the players outside the classroom setting and having a lot of fun with them over the next three months” said Finnegan. “I’m thinking pitching and defense will be the strength of the team, and our weakness might be inexperience.  We have a lot of young kids, but they are very talented and I think that their talent will make up for their inexperience”.

The team is super excited for the upcoming season and what it has to bring. It will be a great way for the young players to get to know the game better, and to meet some new people. Their next game is Friday, March 16th at Mariner High School at 4pm.
