The Varsity Boys Soccer team began its season last week, starting off the year with a dominant four to two victory over Lynnwood High School.

Last Friday, March 11th, the Boys Soccer team took to the field for the first 2017-2018 game. It was a dazzling victory, Blanchet was securely in the lead for the majority of the game, outscoring Lynnwood four to two by the end of regulation. The Braves had a slow start, having difficulty finding the back of the net in the first half, leaving the final score at the half one to one.

“We started the game a little flat,” said senior striker Eli Sherwood, “We were overthinking the little things and weren’t making the best decisions. It was good to see us pick it up in the second and get the win.”

Coming out of the half the Braves scored two quick goals to put them on top. From there they maintained their lead, only allowing Lynwood to score once more. The Braves were quick to answer back though, adding a goal of their own and in doing so ensuring the win for their first game this season.

“It felt good playing under the bright lights on Friday,” said senior Matty Campbell, “and it felt even better when we got the win.”

With such a victory comes high hopes for the remainder of the season, and many players have high hopes for the remainder of the season.

“Going into the game we knew it was going to be difficult,” said junior defender Liam Tracey, “but when we were playing, especially during the second half, things just clicked and we ran away with the game. Makes me excited for the rest of the season”

Make sure to come out for the rest of the boys games, it will be an exciting and fun season you will not want to miss.
