Joey Kitchen Provides a Promising Range

Joey Kitchen, located in University Village, is a great place to bring a group with diverse tastes.

On a lazy Sunday evening, not many restaurants are still alive and buzzing. This is not the case with Joey Kitchen. An establishment that clearly sets itself apart through its atmosphere, Joey’s gives off a classy sports-bar vibe that is full of energy.

“It’s always a good time,” said Teddy Gallaudet.

I went to Joey’s with my family, and with a few siblings with picky tastes, finding a suitable menu can be quite the task. Fortunately, Joey Kitchen has a wide range of appetizers, salads, and entrees that fit every palate. From traditional sushi, to Indian chicken, to fettuccine alfredo, many different countries are represented on the menu.

My father ordered a Thai salmon bowl.

“Joey’s is a great spot to bring the family,” he said. “There’s something everyone will like.”

My younger siblings went with American-style foods, opting for beef sliders and steak, both of which earned good reviews. I ordered the panang prawn curry bowl, which greatly surpassed my expectations. With the perfect hint of spice and the added flavor of crumbled peanuts on top, it was a meal that I would definitely order again.

“I always get the sliders,” said my little sister, Charlotte. “They’re super good.”

Situated right next the University of Washington on 46th, Joey Kitchen is open from 11am to 1am every day of the week.
