Lacrosse off to a strong start

The Boys Lacrosse team started the season strong remaining undefeated after 5 games. The team has played some difficult teams so far, and have proven they are a strong team this year.

After losing some pivotal seniors last year, many promising underclassmen additions joined the team this year and are showing a bright future for the Boy’s Lacrosse Team. The team is showing strength on both offensive and defense with some powerful players that put a lot on the table. Scott Dequilo, Jack Manca, and many other seniors have some big shoes to fill, but the younger players seem to be stepping up to the plate in a big way.

Last week the Braves beat the defending 2A State Champions, Seattle Academy, in one of their first games. Captains Finn Jelinek and Jackson Brown have set a great example for the team on and off the field. Showing strength in plays and skill, and great knowledge of the game.

“I have a good outlook on this season” said Jelinek, “we a lot of new strong players and we are working pretty well together.”

Head Coach Steve Snorsky also has a good outlook on the season. Snorsky is a tough coach who expects a lot from his players. He continues to push them to work harder, even after their success thus far.

“They can’t get cocky,” said Snorsky. “If they get cocky, they will slack off, and that can’t happen.”

Hard work seems to be an integral part of this team’s success, and they hope to continue their winning streak this season.
