Boys Cross Country Comes to a Close

After a successful season, the Blanchet boys cross country regular season has officially come to a close. Although the regular season  is now over, the weeks of hard work and intense training clearly paid off for the boys and have sent them onto post-season.

On October 24th, the boys competed in the Metro Cross Country Championship Meet which was held at Lower Woodland Park. The team had a very successful meet with both the first and second place spots taken by Blanchet students. With the fourteen teams that competed in this meet, Blanchet came in first which then meant their work was far from over as they were now placed in the District Cross Country Championship Meet.

The District 2 Championship Meet was held on November 2nd at Lake Sammamish State Park. At the meet, the boys team upheld the Blanchet name and  came in first overall out of the twelve competing teams. With this, four out of the five top runners in the entire meet were Blanchet’s very own. In the District Championship, senior Kai Gundlach came in first, followed by freshman Will Schnieder in third, Nicky DiMartino in fourth, and sophomore Tyler Graff in fifth.

With this strong, successful season, the coaches and runners have a lot to be proud about and can start getting excited to see what next year’s team holds.
