JVC Boys Basketball player profile: Patrick Harmon

Alex French

This year’s freshman boys basketball team has had a very solid season up to this point.

Winning is never easy with a team like this because the players have only known each other for a couple of months. With that being said, this team plays like they have been playing with one another for years and years.

Coach Gaskill said, “It is hard to coach kids who don’t know each other, but these kids are great with one another.”

One of the keys to the team is Patrick Harmon. I sat down with Harmon to talk about the season so far and the inside scoop on the squad.

Q: How has the team played this year?

A: I think it has been really good. We have won a lot of games and are having fun. We are kind of a slow paced team and it has payed off. We play the way we want to play. If we start to play the other team’s way, that is when we struggle.

Q: How is the chemistry with this team?

A: I think the chemistry is solid. We haven’t known each other for too long, but we are close. We are young so sometimes people will get out of line with each other, but coach will quickly put them in place.

Q: How has your play been this season?

A: Good, I’ve been playing bench. I have gotten good playing time though. I think I come off the bench and contribute every game for the most part.

Q: Who have been the “go-to” guys this year?

A: Every guy on our team contributes a lot but in my opinion the most consistent this year have been Jojo Wass and Chris Frost.

The Braves are in the heart of the season, and look for Harmon to contribute down the stretch.
