Tradition Week Takes the Trophy

Tradition Week at Blanchet is a time of celebration and fun, and with another one of Bishop Blanchet’s famed Tradition Week in the books, many students reflect on how this Tradition Week was for them.

Tradition Week is just another one of Bishop Blanchet’s many unique attributes. It is a week filled with games, activities, assemblies, and a little friendly class competition, honoring teachers, staff, and students all throughout the week.

Many students love how spirited each class gets during the week, whether it’s trying to find the “B”, donating money to the Pequenos through the penny pinch, or participating in assemblies.

Junior Deaborah Gebreyesus noticed and appreciated the spirit and togetherness each class brought to the table all throughout the week.

“I love Tradition Week because when our school gets together all decked out in class colors it shows a sense of unity and tradition,” said Gebreyesus.

On the other hand, students enjoyed taking part in events in the assemblies, the new “minute to win it games”, and the after school games such as Chess and Knowledge Bowl.

Freshman Rolfe Zeisner loved being able to take part in and witness the energy and enthusiasm each class brought to the table, especially the class of 2021.

“Oh, the spirit from the class of ‘21 was for sure my favorite part of Tradition Week,” said Zeisner. “It had me going wild!”

Senior Scott Yeung, is one that has been waiting years to finally take the Tradition Week Trophy home for the Class of 2018, and he isn’t the only one.

“Tradition week gives us all an opportunity to come together, as a class and as a whole school,” said Yeung. “In addition, I have been waiting four years for that one shining moment to finally hear our class’s name being called as we rush to the trophy for that moment of glory.”

A huge thanks to all the cabinets and the ASB who planned and executed a great Tradition Week.
