Community urged to join in prayer for Chris Connors

As Mr. Chris Connors continues to battle stomach cancer, the Bishop Blanchet community is being urged to take part in a chris-(1)Novena, asking for the intercession of intercession of Blessed Marie-Rose Duroucher for Chris’s healing.

A novena is a nine-day series of communal prayers, often in support of great causes or people in great need.

“We are not expecting a miracle,” said Ms. Kristin Kuzmanich, Connor’s wife.” we know that our faith and our belief is bigger than hitching all our hopes on any miracle cure. However, we will graciously welcome, accept, and witness any grace or gift of healing God might bring into our lives.”

The prayers for the Novena will be posted each day on both CaringBridge and Facebook.

Former Bishop Blanchet teacher, Mary Sontegrath, visited Connors this past week, and passed along the story or the Blessed Marie-Rose Duroucher and a one of her relics.

Duroucher was a French-Canadian nun who founded the Sisters of the the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary. She was beatified by Pope John Paul II in 1982.

Connors now carries the relic with him day and night, in his shirt pocket.

Students and their families are asked to pray  in an effort to “obtain her favor through intercession” for Connor’s healing,

Prayer for the First Day
My God, through Mother Marie-Rose’s daring faith direct our lives on the road which leads to you and grant us the favor we solicit from you.

Let us pray the Our Father…
Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Let us pray a Hail Mary…
Hail Mary full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus. Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death Amen.

Let us conclude with  Glory be.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

We ask this of you, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.
